Title: Maintaining occupational health, safety & general housekeeping
Purpose A learner accredited with this course will be able to demonstrate applied competence in occupational health, safety awareness of environmental issues and general housekeeping based on statutory and industry requirements.
Title: Apply Health & Safety to Work Area Purpose The purpose of this Unit Standard is to enable learners to apply basic health and safety legislation in the form of standards and procedures governing health and safety in the workplace, to ensure that they contribute to a safe, healthy environment for themselves and others. Purpose Learners working towards this course will be doing so with the intention of reaching the full qualification "National Certificate (Construction) for the installation of floor coverings". They will be involved in, or working within a floor covering installation environment.
Content People who are assessed as competent with this course will adhere to health and safety requirements with confidence, including:
- The Setting up protection and safety equipment for the working area.
- Using, storing and maintaining tools and equipment safely.
- Complying with Health, Safety and Welfare.
